Protestantism is the child of Hajnalism. When Whites of Northwest Europe became more individualistic and "bootstrappy", it inevitably followed that those same Whites would chafe at a universalizing religious authority and strike out on their own. It's somewhat comical to consider the irony of the Catholic Church's ban on cousin marriage, which set in motion the genetic selection for more individualistic Whites, was the very seed which grew into the dominant schism that fractured the Church.
