The filicide racial disparity is worse than that. Black mothers commit filicide at six times the rate of White mothers. Hispanic mothers commit filicide at a slightly lower rate than White mothers in the US, although Hispanic fathers commit child abuse and neglect leading to death at higher rates than black fathers (this could likely be an artifact of fewer black fathers in the home). For a real eye-popper, estimates of maternal filicide rates among modern day hunter-gatherer tribes are between 15%-50% of all live births. The H-G infanticides are almost entirely committed by women. The mother will go into the woods with the other tribe's women, and they will decide if her baby is worth keeping.
