And on the scifi front: Progress based on Tesla's work and ET work led to space/time based experiments, which got shut down when they accidentally sent some stuff back in time. From Tesla they also figured out how to transmute gold, which they sold to the Russians and Chinese, who didn't know it was synthesized. Meh, I don't know about this guy.
