The College Fix reported that the University of #Michigan filed paperwork on August 3 to hire a #foreign guest worker as its women’s assistant golf coach. In the first two weeks of August alone, the university **filed nine more notices of intent to hire #H1B workers** as assistant professors. Michigan is not an outlier. #Purdue filed to bring in a foreign assistant tennis coach, and #NotreDame sought a foreign worker to teach English. **There is no shortage of Americans** who could and would be golf coaches, tennis coaches, or English teachers. There is, however, a legal design that makes hiring foreign workers cheaper and easier: colleges and universities are EXEMPT from the H-1B visa cap, so **they can file as many visa petitions as they like** Some #employers will always take the path of least resistance. #Congress wrote the exemption into law, and only Congress can write it out. **The #House and #Senate each have a vehicle to rein in this program** Congress moves when constituents speak up.
