Hummingbirds are awesome little creatures. When we started our farm it was nothing but wide open lawn. We stopped using any chemicals or pesticides and began planting and planting and planting. often with a just stick it in the ground and lets see if it grows mentality. Since we routinely let things overgrow we've noticed more and more wildlife. We are blessed with a daily show of more than seven hummingbirds all using the feeder outside the kitchen window. all day long and into the evening they buzz each other, perform incredible acrobatics and entertain us. I'm sure they have nests nearby but we've never found them. Hummingbirds build very tiny and very well camouflaged nests. They buzz us when we are outside and sometimes fly right up in front of us hovering effortlessly to say...Hey....the feeder is empty. would you mind filling it up please. Just sharing a fun little moment in the day.
