Ultimately Twitter banning Trump was a good thing, i am very much Pro Free Speech. But luring the left to sites that became right wing bastions is difficult. And the left wing alt tech platforms tend to be even more censorious than Twitter was (Never been treated so hostile as i have been on large semi-official Mastodon instances). Parler wasn't a proper alternative, i abandoned that a while ago when i could not change my password or enable 2fa. Seemingly hosted on Amazon's servers and fully centralized. Gab wasn't a good alternative originally either, but they learned from their mistake and went to the Fediverse. If Gab gets taken down people can still have a place to talk. All i hope is that whatever Trump ends up with is also on the Fediverse (Or a better decentral alternative) or will be in the future. Then we can have true proper political discourse again.
