America is a technologically advanced country. And ever more so, electronics are integrated in everyday life and functions. In order to keep up with infrastructure, electronic components of all sorts are consumed at increasing rates. Who manufactures electronic components? Specifically "chips"? China and India, and to some lesser degree, eastern Europe. Try to buy graphics cards now. Taiwan is the only place (with American investments and set-up) that currently supplies much of the crucial components to America. I believe that is the reason China will never let go of Taiwan. If Taiwan falls to the chinese, it's over and back to fire and wheel for us. Not that the chinese haven't tried. I have friends in Taiwan who see this, they also say that the Taiwanese government is infiltrated by chinese nationals and have been for a while, it's only a matter of time, just as it is in the US now. And rime is what they have, they play the long con.
