In response to an FB post about how biological should now be forced to take responsibility for their children, I finally had enough: What in the world is this BS I keep seeing? Pretty much throughout Roe v Wade, where supposedly women were 100% solely able to choose whether to bring a child into this world, men have nevertheless been required to pay child support (for the mother's decision, one in which the men might well have played no part or even been unaware) even in cases where they're neither the husband nor the biological father. E.g. see: https://www.hg.org/legal-articles/can-i-be-required-to-pay-child-support-if-the-child-isn-t-mine-46953 Going back DECADES, I've pointed this out in "discussions" about abortion and so-called "women's rights", explaining that if it's purely a women's "right to choose", then it should be purely a woman's "responsibility to bear and raise" (even though I didn't like the social/moral implications of that), AND that pro-choice women had better get to work relieving men of any and all LEGAL responsibility (including taxes for various forms of welfare) for WOMEN's choices, if they truly wanted to legally preserve their "choice" and lay the groundwork for ensconcing Roe v Wade via Constitutional amendment or other means (which Democrats have certainly had opportunities to do, such as when Obama had a supermajority). In no instance can I recall any pro-choice woman responding with "hey, you're right, it's our choice, therefore our responsibility, so we should strive to seal this deal legally and relieve men of the burdens we might otherwise place on them via our choices". Instead, they spewed anger and hatred, and of course even required men (really, all taxpayers) to fund their own choices in the form of abortion. There was no "if you don't have a uterus, you shouldn't have to PAY for what we do with ours", any more than there is now. [...continued, 1/3...]
