Fully Vaccinated U.S. General Dies Of Coronavirus Infection The family of the 84-year-old four-star General announced his death in a Facebook post Monday. "General Colin L. Powell, former U.S. Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, passed away this morning due to complications from Covid 19," The Powell Family wrote in the statement. "He was fully vaccinated. We want to thank the medical staff at Walter Reed National Medical Center for their caring treatment. We have lost a remarkable and loving husband, father, grandfather and a great American." Two years after the attacks of 9/11, Powell, as Secretary of State in 2003, presented to the United Nations evidence that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, leading to an American-led invasion of the middle east nation. Powell spoke at the 2020 Democratic National Convention on behalf of Joe Biden. Following the news of Powell's death, critics of Biden administration's push to get more people vaccinated, point out that it will be hard to convince any sane observer that vaccine mandates make any sense at this point.
