New York Teacher Arrested For Groping, Sexting With 14-year-old Student “I want to be with you,” Shannon Hall, 31, a teacher at Jamaica Gateway to the Sciences High School on Gothic Drive in Queens, New York, texted the teen on May 24, according to police. He had also exchanged texts with the minor in the past. Hall claimed he had been drunk at the time when the teen confronted him at school the next day. But he didn't stop texting. According to prosecutors, over the next week, Hall sent "multiple text messages" expressing his desire to kiss, grope and have sex with the student. He also said he wanted to "walk on the beach with her" and "smoke with her." He added that, “If she showed anyone the messages she would be dead.” Officials at the school, called police after the teen complained about Hall, who was off-duty when he was arrested Thursday evening, and charged with aggravated harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. Hall has been released without bail, awaiting arraignment in court. “This alleged behavior is completely unacceptable and will be fully investigated,” Department of Education spokeswoman Jenna Lyle said. “This employee has been reassigned away from the school and students pending the outcome of the arrest and if convicted, we will pursue his termination.
