I think Soviet feminism was a mistake, but the massive loss of manpower from the war was a big source of pressure, and it was at least better than Western feminism in that it included responsibilities and accountability with rights. Soviet women worked in factories, in mines, and on construction sites. Few Western women wanted to do that.
