The Grissom timeline had its beginnings in a future history I wrote back in the late 70's and early 80's, when it seemed unimaginable that the Soviet Union could fall, when the "reasonable" futures had us taking the Cold War to the stars. When events of the late 80's and early 90's left it behind, it slowly transformed into an alternate history, a rocketpunk world in which Cold War super-science bore bitter fruit in the post-Soviet world.
