Here in Fla last evening the lights went out…it was already pitch dark but not too late…not too cold yet…I was getting ready to start making pies and putting together a pan of baked zitis for Christmas Eve…it was our 55th wedding anniversary and earlier hubby returned home after running a few errands…proudly toting a very welcome bag of Chinese food (it’s been an anniversary thing for many years) he was also carrying the most beautiful creamy coral roses…orange is my favorite color so I really loved the special arrangement he and our favorite florist arranged...so tummy full of egg foo yong and pork fried rice…smelling the flowers and happily planning what I was about to start cooking…blink…no lights…no warning…luckily only three steps from the dog walking floodlight…so at least not bumping into walls…quickly called our daughter to see if her lights were on…they were…good news…then I started worrying if this was a big outage…a tree down with the rising cold front wind or another suicidal squirrel…around here…some things take longer to fix than others…put the pie makings aside and started pulling out our little battery lanterns…about that time…maybe eight minutes in…blink!…lights came back on…so…that’s good…just hope “they” were not practicing for a big one…so far tonight all good…so while I am able to communicate…I would like to wish every one of us a Blessed, Merry and BRIGHT Christmas!!!
