The fact is… California is financially in deep shit… they are in debt and have been mismanaging money (like pouring billions into the bullet train project that keeps going way over budget). Because of its sanctuary policies, the state has lost priority access to regular federal funding. California leadership came up with a workaround in Trump’s first term: Light fires (allow them to burn). Declare a State of Emergency. Ask the federal government for billions in disaster aid to “fix” the problem. Wildfires = the perfect excuse to declare an emergency and pull in massive federal checks. Don’t you get it? California will keep needing to create disasters to stay afloat financially because they’ve run the state into the ground. If anyone recalls in 2018-2020… countless people were arrested for arson.
