Random story time lol Weeks ago, while I was having ChatGPT 5.4 test some code, I noticed two new models appeared - 5.5 and 5.6. I thought it strange that two new versions were released so close together, but figured it was some corporate oversight and proceeded to try out 5.6. I didn't notice much of a difference for my purposes, but kept using it anyway. The next day, I noticed I was randomly back on 5.4 for some reason. I thought it was even more strange now... why did two new versions suddenly show up and then both disappear? A short time after that, 5.5 came back, which I have been using since, but no sign of 5.6. I wondered what happened. Now, perhaps it all makes more sense. Did someone at OpenAI accidentally release their next model *way* ahead of schedule, only to have that reversed as soon as possible? On a side note, yes, yes, I know. Why would I use ChatGPT at all when we have Gab AI? That's simply a matter of economics. We got their $20/month plan and use it constantly for project-related tasks only (my wife and I aren't the type of people who would ask any AI anything in the realm of life advice, culture, or politics so, for our tasks, we never run into its leftist bias). Heck, I've even set my Weapon Keyboard to auto-prompt ChatGPT every so often to let it work through the night and I've never hit any kind of limit. And as long as that kind of availability continues, $20 per month is a steal for our available budget.
