More Great News! Initial Jobless Claims, Insured Unemployment Fall Significantly By August End At the end of July the $600 a week federal unemployment check came to an end. Congress was not able to get a 4th stimulus bill passed which caused President Trump to approve an Executive Order allowing those that were unemployed to receive $400 a week. The President also removed the payroll tax as of September 1st for the remainder of the year. These two events caused a lot of Americans to get back to work rather than sitting home.
