I'm seeking software apprentices. There seemed to be some confusion last time on the concept of apprenticeship. In part it means I’m a master software dev who will make myself available to apprentices to help them learn software. I address another part of that in a moment. I don’t care where you are. You need a laptop or desktop or perhaps a Raspberry Pi; a cell phone or tablet won’t do. My technical skill requirements are minimal; I link to the specifics below. A big plus is if you are sometimes available during a window from roughly 7pm – 2am (US) Eastern. My rough guess is that it will take at least 3 hours a week, not necessarily consecutive, to be worthwhile to both of us. I’m Kwynn Buess at https://kwynn.com . I have a longer version of this ad linked from my home page. Email is best: [email protected] (On my web resume is a link explaining why I still use Gmail (Big Evil Goo Mail). I’m not claiming it’s a great reason. If you would like to encourage me / help me on the project of getting my own email servers working, all the better.) You can DM me on Gab, but there may be a delay or a long delay. Apprentices used to do work for the master craftsman as part of their apprenticeship, so that translates to “no pay,” and I am not necessarily asking you to do work for me. That’s the short answer. There are ways in theory to help us both make money or even a good bit of money, but they are theoretical enough that all that I can offer you with confidence is help in learning software development. I first posted this on May 12 (this year). I got a bit of positive feedback, so I hope this group feels it is appropriate that I post this periodically. I did not get any direct communication, let alone apprentices, so I will try again. As of a few minutes ago, it appeared that no one posted to the group today, so hopefully I can have the bonus of fitting myself into a low traffic day.
