On the trail today, I had a lovely time walking and reflecting. As I walked, I found myself thinking about why I feel so tiny and insignificant this year. I am noticing single and tiny berries, single flowers, tiny flowers. I don't fully understand it, but I am sure it has something to do with where I am in my journey and how God is working in my life. I don't share this for pity. Quite the opposite. The more I learn about God and His ways, the more I realize how much there is still to learn. I feel much like a baby who begins life needing milk before being ready for solid food. Spiritually, I feel as though I have just begun my journey, and there is so much more ahead of me. Just when I think I am getting to the deeper understanding the "meat" of God's Word; I discover there is something new He wants to teach me. Then I begin learning all over again. What a wonderful adventure that is. I praise His Holy Name! While these quiet trail walks are relaxing and enjoyable, they are also comforting. They remind me that I am not learning alone. The Holy Spirit is a gentle Teacher, a faithful Counselor, and a constant Guide. He leads with patience, wisdom, and love. Today, I am grateful for the One who walks beside me He is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace, and Lord of Hosts. And I am grateful that He meets us wherever we are on the journey, whether we are drinking milk or learning to digest the meat of His truth. Every step forward is still a step with Him. Philippians 1:6: "Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
