Facts about the US Armed Forces are always plainly jaw-dropping 😲! Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Mississippi, has just rolled out the 13th and final San-Antonio Flight I class LPD (Landing Platform Dock) "USS Richard M. Cool, Jr. (LPD-29)" for the US-Navy. Other than the designation might suggest, those LPDs are serious warships, measuring in at 25,300 metric tons at a length of 208 meters (228 yards) and featuring 2 RAM starters, 2 Bushmaster II 30mm cannons, several 12.7mm M2 guns and 2 MK 41 VLS. It can accommodate up to 700 Marines, 14 armored amphibian vehicles AAVP-7, five MV-22 Osprey and two LCAC or one LCU.
