From scraps, comes beauty. ⠀ For a wedding gift, Gerrin wrote the newlywed couple a poem and had it placed in a shadow box with this cross. ⠀ He made this cross from two pieces of wood... one piece from Cailin's childhood bookshelf and the other from Cade's childhood dresser. ⠀ The employee from Hobby Lobby called to verify which side of the wood should be showing. She asked to turn them over so the prettier side would be showing, but Gerrin said no. He wanted the flaws to be seen. ⠀ Because that is what we are. Flawed.
