because there's no "we, the people" anymore, just atomized sheeple, uncapable for a concerted action. in many ways, the condition of today's #WageSlaves is much worse than the condition of the slaves of the past. the slaves of the past knew how to sustain themselves and therefore could rebel or run away. the sheeple of today are like domestic animals, cattle, totally dependent on their capitalist owners for survival, and therefore can't even rebel.
