Looks like yesterday was our last nice day for a while... Finished painting the parking lot stripes (had to use a spray can on the last stripe, since I ran just a hair shy of enough paint) and also made time to pressure-wash the plane. She hasn't been clean in several years and was growing a green coating on the wings and belly. Not unlike me in my old age... No water here at the airport (although the city is currently running a water line out here for $16 million...), so collected rainwater in our spare fish totes, plugged in a submersible pump (with a 100 foot extension cord) and fired up the pressure washer. She's all pretty and clean now. With a flat main tire... Getting her annual inspection later this month and replacing all 3 tires. The flat one is the new one too, since they don't make quality anything anymore... Started showing rubber rot almost immediately. I do have two 20 year old "new" mains in the hangar, so we'll see if those last better than this last piece of garbage. Yakutat, Alaska
