We generally assume people in government are competent to do their jobs. So a lot of people assume that if the Fed says we need to raise interest rates to combat inflation that it must be the correct solution. But this seems like we are not addressing the CAUSE. Inflation is not high because interest rates were low. You can cool off prices by reducing DEMAND which raising interest rates will do. But it won't reduce the demand for staples. If you want to fix inflation, you need to fix the supply chain problems. So my question to you is how would you fix inflation if you were in charge?
