Want an easy way to get your finances in order quickly? Follow the 50-30-20 rule. 50% (or less) of your take home pay should be for NEEDS: shelter, basic clothes, food, transportation, minimum debt payments, etc. 30% (or less) should go towards WANTS: entertainment, vacations, cable or streaming services, etc. 20% (or more) should be towards SAVINGS: emergency/opportunity fund, retirement, paying off debt principle, etc. For Christians, tithing should be placed in the NEEDS column. Follow this rule of thumb, and you will get financially healthier!
