This is an artificial product of malignant bureaucracy and late-stage zoning. No meaningful shared meeting spaces or gardens, no local commerce, nothing to do, and no place worth walking. You're not permitted or incentivized to do anything except stay in your stick houses, keep to yourself, and pay your taxes, fees and fines. We inherited a 20th century dystopian fever dream. If you have a few minutes, look up the video "How to turn your Neighborhood into a Village". Better suburban planning is a bit like rearranging the deck chairs on a sinking ship and his "solution" falls far short of actually solving the issue, but he does do a good job identifying the problems that need to be addressed. People are missing the village by design.
