I have put a lot of information in the comments. Kirsten Murfitt · Tauranga Council will add fluoride to our water from September 2024. Fact: the majority of NZ’s fluoride is a byproduct of hydrofluosilicic acid that is produced during the manufacture of super phosphate fertilizer. It is not natural fluoride. Which fertilizer companies provide the hydrofluosilicic acid to the suppliers of fluoride? How much will it cost for the Council to add the industrial waste to our water? Fact: 97% of western Europe have rejected water fluoridation. What is fluorosis and what causes it? What is the difference between topical application of fluoride in toothpaste and ingesting fluoride via our water supply? Will those children drinking sugary drinks benefit from fluoride being added to our water? i.e will they stop drinking sugary drinks and start drinking water? Why isn't the issue of sugary drinks being addressed rather than medicating everyone? Should we have a choice?
