How do I install Gab on Android (PWA)?

Last updated June 17, 2026

Install Gab on Android by adding it to your Home Screen from Chrome. It runs as a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means it looks and feels like a native app — full screen, home screen icon — without going through the Play Store.

Step by step

  1. Open Chrome on your Android device (other Chromium browsers like Samsung Internet work too).
  2. Go to gab.com and log in or browse for a moment so the page fully loads.
  3. Tap the menu button — three dots in the top-right corner.
  4. Tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install app" (wording varies by Android version and browser).
  5. Confirm the name (or leave it as "Gab") and tap Add or Install.
  6. The Gab icon appears on your Home Screen. Tap it to open Gab in full-screen mode.

What the PWA can and can't do

The PWA gives you most of the Gab experience: timeline, posting, groups, video, DMs, and notifications. Android PWAs generally support push notifications and work well as day-to-day mobile clients.

Why there's no Play Store version

Gab was removed from the Google Play Store. The PWA is how Gab ensures Android users can still access the platform regardless of Google's decisions. Gab does not distribute a native Android APK.
