Gab Live
Last updated June 17, 2026
Gab Live is the live streaming feature within Gab Social, letting users broadcast in real time to their followers and the public. It's a direct alternative to YouTube Live, Twitch, and Facebook Live for creators who have been banned or restricted on those platforms for covering sensitive or politically contentious content.
What it means
Live streaming bans have been some of the most high-profile content enforcement actions in recent years. Journalists covering protests, politicians holding live Q&As, and preachers delivering sermons have all had live streams cut mid-broadcast or accounts terminated after the fact. Gab Live operates on a simple principle: if the content is legal under U.S. law, it's allowed.
How it works on Gab
Gab Live streams appear in followers' timelines as they happen and can be discovered in the dedicated Live section of the platform. After a broadcast ends, the recording can be saved and published as a regular video on the broadcaster's profile. Both the live stream and the recording are publicly accessible to non-logged-in visitors, which means audiences don't need a Gab account to watch.
Streaming is done via RTMP, so standard broadcasting software like OBS Studio works out of the box.
Related terms
Gab Live is part of the full video stack on Gab, alongside Gab Video (long-form uploads) and Gab Clips (short-form vertical video). The driving context is deplatforming — the reason live streamers seek alternatives in the first place.
