Gab Trends
Last updated June 17, 2026
Gab Trends shows the most-discussed topics, hashtags, and terms on Gab Social in real time. It's the platform's pulse — what users are actually talking about right now — without the editorial interference that has made Twitter's trending topics and Google Trends unreliable indicators of genuine public interest.
What it means
Twitter's trending topics have been manually overridden by the company on multiple documented occasions — either to suppress topics that were trending organically or to artificially elevate others. Google Trends data is subject to similar curation questions. Gab Trends is designed to reflect what the Gab user base is actually discussing, with the same free speech principles that govern the rest of the platform.
How it works on Gab
Browse trending topics and news at alto.gab.com. Trends are visible in the sidebar on the Gab web interface and updated in real time. Each trending topic links to a filtered timeline of all public posts containing that term or hashtag, making it easy to follow a breaking news story or join an active conversation.
Because Gab's user base has its own political and cultural composition — heavier on conservative, libertarian, and Christian voices than the mainstream social web — Gab Trends often surfaces stories and perspectives that aren't trending anywhere else yet.
Related terms
Shadowbanning is the mechanism by which mainstream platforms suppress trending content without notifying users. Gab News is the external journalism layer; Gab Trends is the user-generated conversation layer. Both live within Gab Social.
