How do I block or mute someone on Gab?

Last updated June 17, 2026

Block or mute anyone on Gab from the three-dot menu (⋯) on their post, or from their profile page. Blocking prevents all interaction; muting hides their posts from you without notifying them.

Blocking

When you block someone on Gab, they can no longer follow you, see your posts, or interact with your content. You won't see their posts either. They're not notified that they've been blocked. Block is the right tool for anyone harassing you or who you want completely removed from your Gab experience.

Muting

Muting removes someone from your timeline without blocking them. They can still follow you and see your posts; you just won't see theirs. It's useful for accounts that aren't harassing you but whose content you don't want to see. They're never notified you muted them.

How to do it

  1. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) on any post by the user, OR visit their profile page.
  2. Select Block or Mute.
  3. Confirm if prompted.

Manage your block and mute lists from Settings.
