What can get you banned on Gab?
Last updated June 17, 2026
Posting illegal content, making credible threats, doxxing with intent to harm, running bot networks, and evading a previous ban are the main reasons accounts get removed from Gab. Political speech, religious expression, and controversial-but-legal content are not grounds for banning.
Ban-worthy conduct
- CSAM — Posting child sexual abuse material results in immediate, permanent removal and legal reporting. No appeal.
- Credible threats — Direct, specific threats of violence against identified individuals or groups.
- Doxxing with harmful intent — Publishing someone's home address, employer, or personal details for the purpose of inciting harassment or harm against them.
- Coordinated inauthentic behavior — Operating bot accounts or sockpuppet networks to manipulate discussions.
- Ban evasion — Creating a new account after being suspended to continue the behavior that caused the suspension.
- Serious spam — Automated bulk messaging, unsolicited commercial spam.
What won't get you banned
Controversial political opinions. Traditional religious views. Criticism of public figures, governments, or corporations. Speech that major platforms have labeled "misinformation." Content that makes other users uncomfortable but doesn't cross the legal line. These are protected.
Appeals
If you believe your account was suspended in error, contact Gab support. Suspensions for genuine policy violations (CSAM, criminal threats) are not appealable.
