What are Gab Groups?

Last updated June 17, 2026

Gab Groups are communities within Gab Social where users organize around shared topics, interests, or identities. Each group has its own feed, member list, and moderation settings — similar to subreddits, Facebook Groups, or Discord servers, but on a free speech platform.

What groups can do

Groups have their own post feeds separate from the main timeline. Members post directly into the group, and posts can be pinned or highlighted by moderators. Groups can be public (anyone can browse and join) or private (membership requires approval or invitation). Group owners can appoint moderators to help manage the community and set their own rules for what kinds of posts are welcome.

Finding and joining groups

Browse groups from the Groups section in Gab's navigation. You can search by topic, browse by category, or discover groups through posts in your timeline. Joining a public group is instant; joining a private group requires approval from the group owner or moderators.

Creating your own group

Any Gab user can create a group for free. See how to create a group on Gab for a step-by-step guide. Groups are one of the best ways to build a community and grow an audience on the platform.
