How do I go live on Gab?

Last updated June 17, 2026

Gab Live streaming uses RTMP — the standard protocol for live broadcasts. Any software that supports RTMP (OBS Studio, Streamlabs, Restream) can stream to Gab.

Step by step

  1. Log in to Gab and go to your account settings to find your Stream Key and RTMP URL.
  2. Open your streaming software (OBS Studio is free and widely used).
  3. In your streaming software's settings, select Custom RTMP as the service.
  4. Enter Gab's RTMP URL in the "Server" field and your Stream Key in the "Stream Key" field.
  5. Click Start Streaming.
  6. Your live stream will appear in your followers' timelines and in Gab's Live section.

After the stream

When you end the stream, the recording can be saved to your profile as a regular video — making the content accessible after the live event. Viewers who missed it can still watch the replay.

Why stream on Gab

YouTube Live, Twitch, and Facebook Live have all been used to ban live streamers in the middle of broadcasts for covering political content. Gab Live operates under the same free speech standards as the rest of the platform — what's legal is permitted.
