How do I deactivate my Gab account?

Last updated June 17, 2026

Deactivating your Gab account takes your profile offline without permanently deleting it. Your posts, followers, and settings are preserved and the account can be reactivated by logging back in.

Deactivation vs deletion

Deactivation is a temporary pause — your profile becomes invisible to other users, but your data stays on Gab's servers. Deletion is permanent and removes your account and data entirely. If you're not sure you want to leave for good, deactivation is the reversible option.

How to deactivate

  1. Log in and go to Settings.
  2. Navigate to the Security tab.
  3. Look for the Deactivate Account option and follow the prompts.

Reactivating your account

To reactivate, simply log in to gab.com with your existing email and password. Your profile and posts will be restored.
