What content is not allowed on Gab?

Last updated June 17, 2026

Gab prohibits content that is illegal under U.S. law. The permitted/not-permitted line is law, not ideology. Here is what's not allowed:

Content that is always removed

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — zero tolerance, immediate removal and reporting to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by U.S. law.
  • Credible threats of violence against specific individuals or groups.
  • Doxxing with intent to harm — publishing someone's private personal information (home address, employer, family) for the purpose of harassment or incitement.
  • Coordinated inauthentic behavior — bot networks, sockpuppet accounts, and organized campaigns designed to manipulate platform discussions with fake users.
  • Copyright infringement — DMCA-covered material reported through the proper takedown process.
  • Spam — automated posting, unsolicited bulk commercial messages, and similar abuse.

What is explicitly allowed

Controversial political speech, religious expression (including traditional Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and other faith perspectives on social issues), heterodox scientific commentary, criticism of government and public figures, and satire are all protected. Gab does not remove speech for being offensive, politically incorrect, or contradicting a mainstream narrative.

Adult content

Gab's policy on adult content is subject to its Terms of Service — check gab.com/about/tos for the current rules on explicit material, as these policies can be updated. Content involving minors is absolutely prohibited regardless of any adult content policy.
