Yes — Gab has built-in direct messaging called Gab Chat. You can send private one-on-one messages and create group conversations, all within your Gab account.
How to access DMs
Click the messaging icon in Gab's navigation to open Gab Chat. Start a new conversation by searching for a username. Reply to existing threads from the same interface. Group conversations allow multiple participants.
Who can message you
By default, other Gab users can send you a message request. You can accept or decline. Check your Privacy settings to control who can initiate a conversation with you — you may be able to restrict messages to people you follow.
Encryption note
Gab's direct messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Your connection to Gab is HTTPS-encrypted, but Gab's servers can read message content. For sensitive conversations requiring genuine privacy, use Signal or another E2EE app. Gab Chat is appropriate for social coordination, not for communications you need to keep confidential from anyone but the recipient.
